Design & Brand

From identity to screen: the work that decides whether your company looks like what it says it is.

Design is the area where the gap between competent and excellent is most visible to people who will never be able to explain why. A customer does not identify the spacing problem on a package, but hesitates. They cannot name the inconsistency between two screens of a product, but they distrust it. That is why curation weighs more here than anywhere else.

In practice this area splits into two jobs the same person rarely does well: defining a system — identity, design system, brand guidelines — and applying it to concrete pieces. A project needing both usually needs two profiles, and it is cheaper to accept that at the start than to discover it halfway.

When this is the right choice

Choose this area when the problem is one of perception or clarity — the brand does not say what it should, the product confuses the people using it, the piece does not support the price you want to charge. Do not choose it expecting it to solve a positioning problem you have not yet settled: design makes an existing strategy visible, it does not replace a missing one.
